How to Use This Guide
Four ways in, depending on the question in your head — and one simple rule that runs through all of them.
How to Use This Guide
You don’t have to read this front to back. It’s built to meet you wherever your question is.
Four ways in
- By time — “What do I do this week?” → the 30-Day Plan. Start here if you want a sequence.
- By topic — “How do I handle furniture / IT / the move?” → the Workstreams. Each is a self-contained guide you can hand to an owner.
- By tool — “Just give me the checklist.” → Tools & Templates. Usable trackers, checklists, and email drafts.
- By concept — “What does COI even mean?” → Learn the Basics. Plain-language glossary and short explainers.
If you’re new and a little overwhelmed, ignore all of that and just open Start Here. It routes you to the right next step.
The one rule to remember
If you take away a single thing, take this:
Ask early, write it down, assign the next owner, and test before opening.
It works even when you don’t yet know what you’re doing — and it’s the spine of everything in this resource. The rest is detail.
A note on priorities
Throughout, we separate opening-critical from nice-to-have, against a standard we call Minimum Viable Opening. When something feels urgent, that distinction is usually how you find the next right action.
