Week 3: Assemble the Office

Goal: turn the space into a usable workplace. Things arrive, get installed, and — critically — get tested.

Do

  • Receive and install furniture.
  • Test desks, power, monitors, rooms, Wi-Fi, audio/visual (AV), and access — the way an employee will use them.
  • Stock the kitchen and office supplies.
  • Set up mail / shipping; label storage and supply areas.
  • Finalize the seating plan.
  • Send the employee pre-move email.
  • Schedule the final clean.
  • Hold the day-before readiness meeting.

Work the IT/AV Readiness Checklist room by room, then the Opening Readiness Checklist.

The mindset

This is the week the rule earns its keep: “installed” is not “working.” A room that looks done can still fail a real call; a badge system that’s live can still not let people in. Test against your Minimum Viable Opening, and write down anything that isn’t ready with an owner and a date.
