Week 4: Move, Open, and Support
Move in without chaos, then manage the first wave of issues. Run move day from a command center, staff opening morning, and triage everything into one tracker.
Week 4: Move, Open, and Support
Goal: move in without chaos, then manage the first wave of issues. Execution week.
Do
- Run move day from a command center; keep one issue tracker.
- Staff opening morning with a visible point person.
- Test rooms and Wi-Fi before employees arrive.
- Post temporary signage; watch kitchen, restroom, and supply areas.
- Triage issues into urgent / opening-week / post-opening / nice-to-have.
- Send daily updates if visible work remains.
- Close the week with a leadership update.
Run the day from the Move Day Run of Show, gate the opening with the Opening Readiness Checklist, and capture everything in the Hypercare Tracker.
Active workstreams
- Move Logistics
- Employee Comms & Experience
- Project Control — one tracker, one decision maker.
Output
- A hypercare tracker
- A punch list by owner
- A week-one closeout update
The mindset
Expect issues — and make them easy to report and visibly owned. People forgive an unfinished detail when they can see it’s logged and someone’s on it. From here, the project hands off to Opening & Beyond: hypercare, closeout, and the start of a good, ongoing workplace.
