Punch list
The running list of unfinished or fix-it items left after install or opening. Keep one, with a photo and an owner on every item.
Punch list
A punch list is the running list of unfinished or needs-fixing items that remain after construction, install, or opening — a scuffed wall, an outlet that isn’t powered, a misaligned door.
Why you care: punch items arrive from everywhere (email, Slack, a hallway “hey, did you notice…”) and vanish just as easily. Keeping one punch list, with a location, photo, owner, priority, and status on every item, is how the small stuff actually gets fixed instead of forgotten. It’s also where most post-opening finish work lives, so it lets you open on time without losing track of what’s left.
