Freight elevator
The large elevator used for movers, furniture, and big deliveries. Usually shared, time-limited, and reserved in advance.
Freight elevator
The freight elevator is the building’s large, heavy-duty elevator for movers, furniture, equipment, and big deliveries — separate from the passenger elevators. Most buildings have only one, share it among all tenants, and only allow it to be booked in set time windows.
Why you care: if it isn’t reserved for your delivery and move days, your crew waits — no matter how well everything else was timed. Book it as soon as you know your dates, and check its dimensions and weight limit against what you’re bringing in.
