Week-One Closeout Update
The end-of-first-week update — what opened, what's resolved, what remains and who owns it — that hands the office off from launch mode to normal operations.
Week-One Closeout Update
At the end of the first week, send one update that draws a line: the opening worked, here’s where things stand, and here’s what “normal” looks like from here. It’s how you exit launch mode on purpose instead of letting hypercare trail on indefinitely.
What it’s for
To reassure employees and leadership, close the loop on the launch, and set expectations for ongoing operations. It’s the weekly status update with a “we’ve landed” framing.
What to include
- What opened successfully — the wins, stated plainly
- What was resolved this week — from the Hypercare Tracker
- What remains open — honestly, with owners
- Who owns each remaining item
- What employees should expect next — how to report issues from here, what finish work is coming
How to use it
- Pull the numbers from your Hypercare Tracker.
- Write it like a host: calm, specific, and honest about what’s unfinished.
- Send to employees (and a fuller version to leadership), then shift to a normal operating cadence.
Tips
- Name the unfinished work. Visible finish items are easy to accept when they’re acknowledged.
- Hand off clearly. State who owns ongoing issues now that the opening team is standing down.
- Celebrate a little. People worked hard to get in the door — say so.
